New Edge 1030 Public Beta 9.44 Now Available

A new Beta software (9.44) for the Edge 1030 has been released. Full change log, instructions, and software for installing the beta can be found Here.

  • For any issues that you encounter please fill out the form included in the download and attach it to an email to [email protected]. Please note that you may not get a response to the email unless we need more information on the issue you report.
  • Although this software is believed to be reliable, it has not yet been released for production and should be used at your own risk.

  • Added diagnostics to help track down an issue where the device can lock up.

  • Fixed a crash on the keyboard page.
  • Fixed an issue that caused bike radar disconnections.

Changes made from version 9.28 to 9.31:

  • Fixed an issue with sensors dropping out.
  • Fixed an issue where the device could become unresponsive.
  • Fixed an issue where ascent remaining was not properly calculated for segments embedded in a course.
  • Allow the elevation profile setting on the map to be maintained through future software updates.

    I am still on 9.34, but have notice that the Auto Upload bug has crept back at some point ??

    Rides are not automatically uploading when home on wifi after saving a ride,  putting device into standby and waking up allows ride to immediately upload.

    Activity Profile -> Hydration/Nutrition -> Minimum Ride Duration (THX!!!) But this menu point and the submenu is not being translated into german. It's still english.

    same for Activity Profile -> Navigation -> Map -> History Line Colour

    I had that too before while using beta-releases. English instead of dutch.

    But as soon as the new public stable version is released all the translation is ok.

    Battery life decrease?

    Anyone else seeing an increased use in battery power?  An initial view is that it is up about 50% but I'll run some more tests before submitting a beta report and fit files.

    Radar Improvements (and with Varia Firmware 3.7 )

    Looks good to me.  More sensitive and still no false positives.

    I have noticed that most "Radar Disconnected" messages are when receiving interference from other systems on the same frequency, so cars with "all round radar" and follow me/adaptive cruise control.  Some temporary traffic lights also cause the same issue, which I suspect is part of the communication between the two lights as it is usually just in the controlled section.

    Yes Jack, I have exactly the same issue. On top of that my fully charged 1030, after switching it on and leaving it in rest mode for 10 minutes, after switching it on suddenly shows 0% battery life, switching itself off. Strange. After that I needed to give the battery a full power cycle. Never seen that one before.

    And and last two rides it uploaded all ok - why such inconsistent behaviour?

    Todays Indoor Trainer Ride with Wahoo Kickr was a lot better than before. Usually I encounter a few Sensor dropouts with slipping Speed or Cadence or even total loss of connection to the trainer. Today I only had one issue, but am not sure if its related to the ANT+FEC Connection. I'll keep an close look to that since that's currently the only way to get proper training.

    Installed 9.44 today and did a 70km ride. Everything worked fine as usual. No crashes, navigation worked fine and ride was automatically uploaded.

    In Addition, my ride yesterday was also uploaded instantly over WLAN, no issues here. Keep up the good work.
