Hi. Why can not I enter the IQ tab during the activity? I would like to download Trailforks routes and to do this I would have to stop recording the current activity. Is there a way?

For example, data fields such as MapDashboard work on why other applications can not function during the activity.
  • As I already tried to explain, it's because applications have access to more functionality than a data field, and that functionality could potentially interfere with a running activity.

Weird. In Wahoo you can change the current route during the activity by synchronizing with Kamoot. I believe that it is possible in Garmin ;)

On the Edge you can switch route on the fly as well, but the route must be pre-loaded on the device. As long as you pre-load all the routes or trails this will work, be it with Komoot or another service. However If you try to open the Connect IQ menu and launch an app (Komoot or anything else) while recording, a message clearly indicate that IQ apps cannot be run when an activity is being recorded. There is no ambiguity at all. Try it before telling otherwise.
  • Although not Trailforks, If you can download the GPX/FIT file of your route phone you might be able to use one of these widgets to get it on to your edge while you are running an activity.

Edit:: I just realised the IQ Map Receiver Widget doesn't support the Edge1030. I've submitted a request to the dev to see if they can add it as I would find it useful
  • Trailforks is also an IQ App and it won't work for the same reason. The widgets linked above do not support any Edge device.

The gimporter widget does support the Edge 1030 i have it installed

I am very disappointed with this. I hope that it can be changed. This excludes spontaneous route planning during the trip (by Kamoot and Trailforks). Everything needs to be planned in advance. Trailforks was one of the reasons why I bought this meter.
    Garmin, think about it, please.
