  • Made several improvements to the Sensor Details UI for Vector 3 power meters.
  • Added support for displaying eBike data fields on a Varia Vision.
  • Fixed bug in Extended Display mode where Di2 battery would report as 255%.
Installation Instructions
  • Connect your Edge 1030 device to your computer using the micro-USB cable.
  • Download and unzip Edge1030_707Beta.zip and place the GUPDATE.gcd file in the \Garmin folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  • Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the Edge, and wait for the update to finish.
  • If you would like to revert to the last public release software, follow the above steps but place the GUPDATE-700.GCD file in the \Garmin folder. Rename the file to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device.
NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.
  • Thanks for your post. This puzzled me so I looked at it again. I went to delete EDGE2 and reinstall. Bizzarly I were able to delete it in Connect Express and it was gone from that interface, but remained on the Edge nevertheless (despite multiple syncs and reboots) and EDGE2 was still visible through Connect Mobile. On Connect Mobile the Uninstall was grey and would not worked. I managed to flush EDGE2 completely from the Edge by locating the binary in Finder (navigating on the Computer drive). It was then gone for good on the Edge itself (detafield was no more usable). I reinstalled with Connect Express. Now it works, I can change the settings with Connect Express as expected. However still cannot change them using Connect Mobile - when I do Save blue botton on that app I get a message to Open from the website and nothing works. Definitely something broken with the install process and the settings process on the iPhone. I will see how that goes when things get updated.

I run latest iOS 12.14, latest Edge FW 7.00, latest EDGE2 app 0.9.2, latest Connect Mobile 4.15.1.2, latest Connect Express 6.12

Today a new GCM was releases. I can edit and save the settings of myEDGE2 just fine using it. Issue solved.

But the problem with Strava is not solved with this GCM update
  • The Strava authorization is a known issue that Garmin told me would be fixed in the next build when I spoke to them about it.
  • Battery still at 100% after a 4 hour ride yesterday so no fix for the battery level bug.

The e-mail that should be sent with the LiveTrack, sometimes work, some don't. I've to stop and delete the ride and start it again until it sends the e-mail. Is it possible to make a fw that can give us the confidence of incident detection and LiveTrack to work ALWAYS?
It's a must on any ride and it never worked smoothly...
For the rest and I only use part of the capability of the GPS I haven't found any issues that affect my use.
  • Ok experience to date, not sure if these bugs are related to Garmin Connect on iOS which has had recent updates and/or this latest Beta firmware for the Edge.

    - Auto Start Live Track, sending email, not working since previous GC update, started working again this morning, maybe a one off or latest GC update has fixed?
    - Using Tacx NEO - Edge reporting the power meter is critically low on battery - intermittent - interesting one as there is no battery in the NEO, it's plugged into mains - looks like Edge Firmware issue.
    - Not receiving iPhone iOS notifications (text / email / whatsapp) etc on Device screen. Intermittent issue, power off and on sometimes resolves. Seeing same issue on Garmin 935xt - GC on iOS issue?
    - Edge finding two power meters, pops up message new power meter found change connection from X to Y. Well that's how it used to work, now the message says change connection from X to X, think that has been screwed up in latest Edge Firmware.

It all adds to the usual frustratingly inconsistent experience with Garmin products. When it all works its great, but I think the whole eco system has got too complex for Garmin's current dev/test capability. There should be rock solid regression test plans on every update to stop these bugs creeping in. Maybe invest more in test capabilty instead of new features to get back to a stable base!

I was having issues when connecting to my connect app on android (galaxy s10+, android pie) with public v7.0. I've upgraded to this beta to see if issue was corrected but still the same problem on v7.07, when wifi is connected on the 1030, the app conects only once when doing first sync. When you turn off your garmin, it never connects again.

I try solution posted on other thread, and when you disable wifi on garmin, then delete on the app and first sync again, then works as expedted, and turning off and on garmin, connected to garmin on phone app without problems. But if you turn on wifi, then kills connection again when you turn off and on you garmin.
  • No such problems here with Edge v7.07B (and before), Wifi and Nokia 5 on Android Pie (9).
