Since 4.0 came out I had nothing but problems. I had strange resets for no reason, Strava Segments crashed the Garmin, I would lose connection to my power meters and had random warnings for non-existent turns. The beta firmwares, along with gimping functionality by disconnecting it from my phone, fixed it mostly. Today I installed 5.0 and went out on a ride with it connected to my phone and with Strava Segments turned on. Everything was perfect! No crashed, no issues with Strava Segments and not a single freeze or lost signal on my power meter. Seems like 5.0 fixed everything for me so far.
A few things I am curious about with respect to those having trouble. Do you have wifi on for phone and or 1030? Do you connect your sensors in a certain order (phone always first or remote last or some other pattern)? Have you tried deleting and reinstalling GC?
If others have thoughts or other question ideas I think it would be great to post them. I am having good performance with Samsung S7E both on 7.x and 8.0. I have phone connected with GC on during my rides. I would love for others to have my success with their 1030s.
In this mornings 130km ride my phone disconnected a very short time. Edge beeped "phone disconnected" and the right away "beeped" again "phone connected".
No problem here with Edge Remote. I don't use cellphones in my rides. I Always do the same sequence: turn on 1030, speed, cadence and heart connection, di2, varia radar and the last one the remote.
