Have done, sorry.
I am in the same boat as you. Consider yourself fortunate. My 955 is consuming battery at a rate of 2% per hour. 100% in 2 days. Watch was OK with one of the older firmware but I ignorantly updated the…
Definitely one for Garmin Support. Are you still within the warranty period (2 years in EU/UK, not sure elsewhere)?
Bought the watch online from EU 9 months ago. Local Garmin service center did a replacement for about 100 Euro. The replacement watch is now doing about 0.4% an hour with 50% of my commonly used non Garmin app re-instated. Will let it stabilize and reinstate the remaining non Garmin apps and see how the watch behaves.
I have also disabled auto software updates. Fingers crossed.
ps. the first replacement watch failed after 15 minutes on the sport and they have to get me a second replacement. sigh....
If the watch was new 9 months ago, you shouldn't have had to pay for a replacement. That would be a warranty matter.
Garmin do not recognize warranty across different region, i.e. no International Warranty, as told by my local service center. Payment is a handling charge and they will take over remaining warranty locally.
I don't want to handle oversea warranty and shipment as it will probably be 4 weeks without a watch, two way shipment cost plus shipment risk. There is also a chance of dead on arrival, like my first replacement provided by local service center. Anyway, this is how Garmin manage their global distribution pretty much like any other brand for geographical pricing to maximize profit.
