Ridiculous GPS inaccuracy on running track

I got alter on software update to 18.23 last night.  I ware my FR955 solar for a 8km tempo run session on a track field using track mode.  It is a standard 400m track.  I ran 20 laps and my watch showed that I ran 7800 meter.  This is a very ridiculous inaccurate GPS distance.  Few meter is fine, 200 meter is half is the track!!.  Could Garmin issue another fix ASAP?

Attached please see my activity log.

  • Exactly, that is Datong track.  I have been running on this track every Wednesday evening.  Same watch, left hand, track one.  As you can see, the starting points of each lap are different! I use the all+multiband GPS mode which gives the best accuracy.

  • It looks like a GPS glitch that happens once in a while.

I was affected by this two or three times in the past.

In my case, it wasn’t related to the watch firmware.

It's just stopped happening next workout.

Did it happen again, or was it a one-time issue?

I’m not saying you should not care about it, but based on your provided information I would let it go if it doesn't happen again the next time you go to the track.

  • Well, this is second time I see this problem.  It happened before.  I have reported this issue to Garmin Service already.   My point is that a 200m offset is unacceptable error.

  • I ran the track again this morning (4x1600m). Oddly the start point was a bit off, but it then snapped to the track. Otherwise, all good. let us know how your Wed night track session goes.
