When running with a footpod, is there any way to see what the GPS track distance is to compare?

I run with a Stryd footpod and generally I am very pleased with the accuracy of it.  But sometimes there are those errant runs when the distance doesn't pass the "smell factor" and it seems like it's over distance (never under).  I get a nice GPS track on all runs even though I had speed/distance set to the Footpod "always" in my 945 but it seems like that one of these analysis sites like Strava or TrainingPeaks would be able to show the GPS distance given the track recorded?

  • Thanks that's interesting reading.  But because I can't click that link and actually see what it's using for my activitvy, and the fact that my distances are different from what my Stryd is recording (both in Garmin Connect as well as other sites like sporttracks), I am going to assume that Strava is reverting back to some GPS-derived distance instead.

Just to be clear though, Strava appears to be re-calculating the distance outside of what my footpod is showing, not the other way around.
