Training suggestion, Pace & Heartrate much to high?!

Hello, can anyone tell me how the run training suggestion is calculated. I have a max. hr 194bpm. Today suggestion is Basic Hr 145bpm or Pace 6:05/km, this is for Basic training much to high in my oppinion. Basic should be Zone 2 in my Case max 136bpm (Zone2 max.70% of max hr my Setting in GC) or 7:30/km.

  • 'much too high' ?  Not really, yes if you are trying to follow a certain training plan that calls for even lower aerobic zone work.  However just a general easy / base / non-workout type run can be quite a range of HR for most training plans. <75% of max or so , maybe 80% if warmer or late in a longer run due to cardiac drift.   If you are looking to log a 'recovery run' then yes, would want to keep in the 100-137bpm range maybe.

My max is also 194... I will do 'Basic' or Easy Aerobic runs in the 120-155 range, depending on the day and what previous/future training looks like.  Even Maffetone type low aerobic training (slowest/easiest of any training i know of) puts everyday runs around 140 for me, but that is an outlier of training plans.

Strava's auto HR zones for me also have zone2 as 125-156 - which also falls in line with my Zone2 pace efforts.  But as always there are quite a theories on training principals.
