Info: New GPS firmware 4.80 rolling out and timezones updated

What are your GPS settings? Are you using GPS + GLONASS? 

Yes gps and glonass, its also not a problem of my area, my wife's 935 needs 30 to 60 seconds

Try GPS and Galileo. In my experience, GLONASS is very slow to lock compared to Galileo. 

I can try this, but 935 is also using gps and glonass, but the chip is different and much better in my opinion. Did some teste in the past with my 945 and different settings but never have seen any change in speed or accuracy 

On todays run GPS stopped recording position after about 43 minutes, all other parameters e.g heart rate, pace (from footpod) continued as normal till end of run about 36 minutes later.  Is this a glitch with new GPS firmware following update to GPS 4.8?

After syncing with laptop the watch froze, restarting out it into an endless loop of "loading maps". Multiple hard reset didn't work, holding down start and back buttons whilst switching on, letting go after one and two beeps, also put it into loading maps loop, tried again this time reset all data selected on starting, and finally stopped loadingmaps after about two hours.

Setting up watch again now

Could the initial problem have been caused by the slow loading maps and not giving it enough time to complete?

That's unusual as carried out properly everything is cleared.

However, good to hear that you appear to be heading in the right direction now but sorry you've ended up having to reset.

No, also galileo isn't faster. Think that the chip is crap, its definitely a step back compared to 935. Not only in fix an accuracy, also in batterydrain. Somebody decided to use sony, thus they are cheaper and thats the only reason
