Installation Instructions

  1. Connect your Forerunner 945 to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. Download and unzip Forerunner945_487Beta.zip. Place the GUPDATE.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  3. From the RemoteSW folder in the unzipped download, copy the GUP3114.GCD into the \GARMIN\RemoteSW folder on your device.
  4. Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the watch, and wait for the update to finish.
  5. If you would like to revert to the last public release software, place the GUPDATE-440.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder. Rename GUPDATE-440.GCD to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device. NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.
  6. To downgrade your peripheral software, place the GUP3114-401.GCD from the RemoteSW\Downgrades folder into your device's \GARMIN\RemoteSW folder.
  • Excactly this would be nicer

  • Some more changes that doesn't come up with the change log.

Navigating route will give similar sound effects than if you ask the device route you back to start on turns. Kind of nice, but kind of too much noise :) Option to mute those would be nice, vibration would be enough. Now you can only control are the turn-by-turn navigation on or off.

And yes, recovery HR doesn't pop up by itself.. so you don't know when it's ready, this is crap, and if you use recovery HR you need to do a lot of extra key presses :(

  • Any chance that we will get a full support of Concept2 with the upcoming FE-C?

  • I did that, and got the videos playing fine

I don't quite understand the logic yet, just as in the instructions I copied the files into the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder, after restart of the watch these files removed from REMOTESW, so it looks working, but where they copied to then?

When I start a Strength / Cardio / Yoga / Pilates training on the watch, there is no training under Training -> My trainings, just the message that I should download some with Garmin Connect.

Do I understand something wrong, when i understand the logic right, with this video files i haven't to start a download from Garmin Connect or?

    Do you have a tip?

Is there a special option where i can play the videos on the wtach?

  • My trainings, just the message that I should download some with Garmin Connect.

Well follow the instruction. Download some and try then. Or create your own, but it's much more easier just to download ready made ones.

  • thats the thing, why you can download all here:
    https://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=15158

and then you have to download it again, thats the thing i don't understand?

  • and then you have to download it again, thats the thing i don't understand?

That download is the videos, not the training workouts.

  • that means, when i create a Workout with Situps manually, then the watch grab the video for Situps?

how do i know, what workouts are integrated in the video files, all possible workouts i can create tith the Garmin templates?

is there on any place an Overview of the possible workouts?

  • that means, when i create a Workout with Situps manually, then the watch grab the video for Situps?

Yes, why don't you just try it. I think it would be much easier to understand how it works just by testing it. That's what I did.

how do i know, what workouts are integrated in the video files

Well you downloaded the videos, there was 3 zip files, did you check their names? I would say that those 3 activities have videos.

  • i think, option like this could have a manual by Garmin, or?

the 3 zip files have a lot of files included, for example the Strength.zip includes 247 Binary Files without any name you can say, ok this is a situp and that is something other, the naming is like:

    Strength:

    S_001_240.bin
    S_033_240.bin

    and so on

    Pilates:

    P_021_240.bin
    P_044_240.bin

    Yoga:

    Y_016_240.bin
    Y_043_240.bin

So they have there own logic for the names, thats ok, but it would be nice to have a list, what workout is behind, atm it is more a lottery game to find out a workout where i have a video.

it would make sense, that i can search in a workout list and apply only one workout, that is interesting, or?

i don't want to play arround, it's my precious time, i don't want play arround, i want to use them!
