Virtual Run and Zwift?

Does anyone know exactly how the new Virtual Run feature in 4.06 beta and Zwift work together? Does the watch broadcast directly to the Zwift app? And ore specifically, does this mean one can bypass third party treadmill hardware such as Runn?

When will this feature come out for Virtual Bike? I use Zwift primarily for biking!!!

This is exactly why we've developed this App. The idea was to simplify the pairing process and allow users to connect one "sensor" to Zwift rather than multiple sensors.

You can do both. stryd can broadcast to both the 945 and the watch but in this case you don't need the virtual run app.

Works with my iPad. Just add it and it will show as HR, speed and cadence. However, speed is wrong and I can't calibrate.

The HRM Run sensor does not have the ability to report Pace or Distance. You will be able to get the advertised running metrics along with heart rate, but that is all.

How many outdoor runs have you done on your 945 with a GPS signal? Also, have you done the calibration process on your treadmill using the Treadmill app on the 945? These are both ways to get your internal accelerometer dialed in.

So do you not actually need a foot pod sensor to do virtual runs on a treadmill? Just a 945 Forerunner and Zwift?

I just noticed that you guys added the ability to select a structured workout from within the Virtual Run app on the 945. Thank you!!!! That’s awesome! This is going to make treadmill workouts soooo much better.

The virtual run feature is not available for the Fenix 5X I have a Forerunner 945. It's fair to say the application only works well if you're running a constant pace (after calibration) but if your going to do a interval session on the treadmill the accuracy goes to pieces. You can get a Zwift foot pod which I think is the cheapest option.

Same thing could be done for cycling in Zwift, almost all the work is already done and user base is bigger.

Hi there. Question. I have a zwift footpod. If I connect to my fenix 6 via Bluetooth, does my fenix 6 rebroadcast this information directly to zwift (bridge) in virtual run or does it only broadcast the native wrist based pace / cadence so the footpod data not used. Is there anyway to verify this?
