Installation Instructions

  1. Connect your Forerunner 945 to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. Download and unzip Forerunner945_377Beta.zip. Place the GUPDATE.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  3. In Forerunner945_377Beta, go to the RemoteSW folder. Place the GUP3114.GCD and GUP3303.GCD file in the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  4. Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the watch, and wait for the update to finish.
  5. If you would like to revert to the last public release software, place the GUPDATE-330.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder. Rename GUPDATE-330.GCD to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device. To revert the RemoteSW, place the RemoteSW\Downgrades\GUP3114-270.GCD and RemoteSW\Downgrades\GUP-3303-430.GCD in the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder. NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.
  • You can try the beta and it's files and if you have issues you can revert back to 3.30 using step 5 in the instructions above.  I don't believe it's possible to use the new files and stay on 3.30 if that's what you're asking?

  • Thanks. I seem to have overhead that.

in German watches, it’s DHM. I didn’t think that change the acronym in relation to the language.

  • Thanks for your reply. Guess what I want to know is, can I keep the downgrade GCD files to have the option to revert to 3.30 manually using step 5 if I find a problem after installing future public releases.

  • I've seen annoying "jumps" during the day in both altimeter and barometer - annoying because I didn't understand. Now I do, so it's slightly less annoying. Thanks for the clarity.

  • With this beta my watch freeze after activities. Activities are OK, sync with GCM is ok but a few minutes after transfer the watch freeze and I need to do a hard reset

  • Anytime you try a beta, you can revert back to the last installed FW, in this case 3.30.  Once this beta becomes an official FW release and you update your watch, you won't be able to revert back to 3.30.

  • This morning I got my 6:30am alarm notification @6:56.

Also it was sound & vibration while it is set to vibration only.

Never happened before on any of the regular or beta versions.

I did reset my watch after the beta installation.

  • You can't complain if you actually play the game. If you're willing to move to the Fenix because you have less support on the 945, then you actually show that a strategy of setting priority on one line of products while displaying a full range of different is actually relevant.

Stick to your 945, or move to other brands if unhappy.

  • i think that's debatable :-), as until now both lines shared the same software features (920 with f3, 935 with f5) - the split appeared with the 945; the 920/935 - compared to their counterparts -were even better (accurate) due to their gps/ant antenna design. what i'm merely saying is that the 945 is supposed to be the flagship of the fitness line so it should have all the features from the outdoor flagship; if that won't be the case anymore, most probably my next watch will be the fenix 7 or whatever name it will have. overall i'm quite happy with the garmin ecosystem and wouldn't want to move to polar, due to the lack of features, obviously :-)

  • I'm pretty sure my alarm didn't go off at all... But I may have just stopped in my sleep...
