Notes:

  • For any issues that you encounter please fill out the form included in the download and attach it to an email to [email protected]. Please note that you may not get a response to the email unless we need more information on the issue you report.
  • This build contains special test code to debug an issue we are tracking for devices sometimes crashing on activity save at higher altitudes. If you should experience this issue using this beta version of software it would be greatly appreciated that you follow the Feedback Reporting document's procedures and provide the err_log.txt and RAM.txt that you should have from this crash. This should help us expedite a fix for this issue.
  • Although this software is believed to be reliable, it has not yet been released for production and should be used at your own risk.

Changes made from version 3.08 to 3.15:

  • Added test code to track down issue with save at high altitude. Please see readme for beta.

Installation Instructions

  1. Connect your Forerunner 945 to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. Download and unzip Forerunner945_315Beta.zip. Place the GUPDATE.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  3. In Forerunner945_315Beta, go to the RemoteSW folder. Place the GUP3114.GCD and GUP3303.GCD file in the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  4. Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the watch, and wait for the update to finish.
  5. If you would like to revert to the last public release software, place the GUPDATE-280.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder. Rename GUPDATE-280.GCD to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device. To revert the RemoteSW, place the RemoteSW\Downgrades\GUP3114-250.GCD and RemoteSW\Downgrades\GUP-3303-360.GCD in the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder. NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.
  • Some days ago I setup Spotify. Before battery life was fine around 0,5 % per hour. Now, battery life is also ok, but only if I disable Bluetooth. I double checked the permissions of the Sportify app but it has no background permission but only

    • Send/receive information to/from the Internet
Saying this, I believe that Spotify utilizes the bluetooth connection on a regular basis to do some sync as soon as bluetooth is enabled.
@Garmin Blake: Could you please double check this with developers? Thanks.
  • Conecting the 945 to a MacBook Pro running High Sierra. When I connect it using the USB cable I'm not getting any folder appear on the desktop of the 945 internal storage. FW 2.80 currently. Anyone know why?

The reason for updating is when trying to delete a Spotify playlist from the library its showing deleting with the progress band. The band completes and deleting stay's on the watch face and the playlist remains in the library and doesn't delete.

Thinking the Improvements to media player and Improvements/fixes for Spotify may fix it.

  • To connect a Garmin music capable device to a Mac, you have to use the app "Android File Transfer" to get access to the folder structure. Its because Garmin is using a protocol Apple doesn't support.

  • Have you double checked the USB Mode under watch Settings -> System -> USB Mode ?

Should be Media Transfer and not Garmin.

  • Thanks. Yes that setting is Ok.

  • Ok thanks. I'll try tomorrow on a Windows computer. Getting late here. Had me stumped because it worked ok connecting the Edge 1030 to the Mac.

  • Hello,

I had a crash today when trying to sync over WiFi. The crash produced a RAM.txt file, I sent it via email, I hope it helps...

    F.

  • On Windows, it will work. Its the old Microdoof MTP Protocol they use for media (music).
The edge doesn't have music, so its different in communication protocol (like I said above...)

  • I didn't understand when the production version will be expected ?

  • It happened to me too yesterday.
