  3. In Forerunner945_308Beta, go to the RemoteSW folder. Place the GUP3114.GCD and GUP3303.GCD file in the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  4. Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the watch, and wait for the update to finish.

  • State of Battery AFTER THE WORKOUT (Less than a minute after completing the exercise)

  • It's been less than 24 hours since fully charging the device with only (1) tracked workout (Strength training) using a chest strap, no Garmin Pay, no GPS usage, no PulseOx, no internal music (I don't even have it set up) I use GearMin as a watch face (and that is not the culprit), and I'm about 60% battery life as I type this. In under 24hours, it has drained 40% battery with over 8% of it drained from that one 40 minute workout. I have the backlight set to 20% and gestures off too.

P.S- Again, I love the app, but one suggestion if possible; can you pinpoint battery usage per widget/app/etc? I don't know much about how App development works, but a list of the highest to lowest battery usage would be great.

  • No  that's not possible. But let usus try another thing: if I look at your stats there is imo no difference whether you are in day-to-day mode or not.

Please download my watchface Blink. Blink has a setting to monitor the watch face's high power mode. Please activate that setting and monitor the value forfor an entire day  Blink shows the number of minutes in high power mode  The value of an entire day should be less than 100 minutes . Furthermore make sure that you have not running any third party widget with background processing (except my battery info:-). Report the value back tomorrow.

Ok, first off. yes, this is completely possible, I'm not imagining this. Turn of phrase or not, telling me this is not possible is incorrect. And I know for a fact this watch is going into low power mode because Gear Min (my watch face currently) has a little icon that shows you, in real-time when the watch is high power and then low. Telling me it's not possible is equating this to user error and how else am I going to use the watch. I wear it 24/7, track sleep, keep it in day-to-day, do a workout and go on with my day. There's nothing else I can tell you. I use 100% brightness on gestures? And I have always done so, it's not THAT much of a battery drain.

What can I tell you? I'm using this Beta, everything is the same build info as anyone else. I use just (2) CIQ apps, GearMin, and your Battery widget. I have a number of Downloaded watch faces, but they are not being used and for argument's sake I'm deleting them from my watch right now to see if that's causing an issue. I have the STYD apps Dozen run/walk/bike. That is it.

For the record I appreciate the effort you're putting here to discern this issue and let me be clear: I am absolutely not the only person having this issue, but this isn't YOUR JOB to figure out. This is GARMIN'S. I sent information to them about two weeks ago and we're still here with this beta.

I will download your Blink watch face and do what you asked, but not to detract anymore from this convo, I'm going to PM you the updated information. The fact an outside CIQ developer is trying to troubleshoot what GARMIN should be doing in real-time now should be known.

  • Sorry for confusing you but the not poosible thing was related to your last question:

P.S- Again, I love the app, but one suggestion if possible; can you pinpoint battery usage per widget/app/etc? I don't know much about how App development works, but a list of the highest to lowest battery usage would be great.

I totally believe that you have this problem. If we are sure that it is no software problem  it is hardware related which means we can't do anything. Then you need to return your unit

  • Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying this. As for hardware being the issue; I really hope not. This is my second 945!

  • I got an issue with the backlight while doing an excercise. It does not work via gesture during workout whereby it is working while not in workout. And..yes, I switched it on in the "while workout" menue :-)

  • "known issue", and i read about it in the community for different models. also have this issue and reported via mail.

hope they fix it, as it's a quite useful feature now as it's getting darker very soon.
i don't want to press a button all the time to see something on the watch
