After a workout VO2max goes up but status is unproductive

I've had a 935 for a year and it never happened but now with the 945 it happened twice already, last time was this week, after a workout my vo2max went from 60 to 62 but training status unproductive.
How is this even possible ?
Does it happen to you guys also ?

  • You are right, it only uses my running VO2max ! Why bother calculating VO2max for cycling if garmin doesn't use it for training status ??
again today my cycling VO2max went up and I'm still unproductive ...

I recently got to Unproductive with this explanation: "It looks like your training load is too focused on high intensity activities. Consider mixing in more low aerobic activities to be more productive.". Not sure I would call this unproductive.

  • If you are multi sport athlete then your Training Status might come from the sport with more activities around VO2 despite the increasing VO2 figure in the other sport. Anyway the calculation of VO2 on Garmin watches is far from reality. I had my VO2 measured in the lab as part of test study (result 54) whereas Garmin Forerunner watches shows my cycling VO2 at 72. :-D
