FR 945 crashed and cannot be started anymore

Today after my gym workout I saved the session and did a restart to have stress measurement again. All worked fine.

Now, laying in my bed, I only see the teal rectangle and that's all.

Press and hold light will shut the watch down, but restarting it does not help, still the teal rectangle only.

Need help guys :-))))

  • Hi guys.

I have similar problem with my FR945. I have it fell down, got a message about configuring an emergency phone to call. Then I'v pressed "Back" and my watch turned black. I can't power on my watch.

    Battery was 40-50%.

Neither master reset, nor second master reset works for me.

I have tried to charge it for 2 hours, wait 15-20 minutes to next try, but without success.

Will appreciate any help or assistance to fix my device.

  • Looks like you might need to contact Garmin Support particularly if you cannot even power on the watch.

  • Will contact support. Thanks.

  • Add one more instance to that count :(  - worked flawlessly for 23 months and then failed this April. First it lost sync with my phone and it would not connect. I reset the watch and then it started to freeze after bootup taking anywhere from 5min to 30 mins to start responding. Then after a second master reset, it failed to initialize and is for ever stuck with the teal triangle. I tried draining the battery, recharging it, letting the watch sit for a while but nothing works. Although rare, it is disappointing to see a flagship model fail. Cannot afford to spend another $500 and trust in the brand.

  • Update as of 9thMay 2023. The watch gradually degraded (which is very surprising and Unusual). First it would not connect to my phone and despite all trouble shooting with Garmin Support - Reinstallation of Garmin connect, soft reset of watch, hard reset of watch, tried pairing with another phone and finally a complete battery drain and charge and hard reset it started behaving erratically with long boot times and then at the 3rd reset it just failed and would not start. Forever stuck on the startup screen with the green triangle. Ultimately had to take the watch to a service center and since it was 23 months old had to pay up for a replacement unit. I am told that there is a 1-2% global failure rate and "mine was just one of those". Sure - something that worked flawlessly for nearly 2 years with out a single drop or issue turned out defective and crashed. I have now lost faith in the brand and hardware. Since I cannot afford a new unit or upgrade, the replacement (which is essentially a new unit at a lower price) was acceptable.
