Maps on FR945 available

Hello,

which maps should I be able to choose from in the FR49 for an activity? I can select

Worldwide DEM Basemap, NR
TopoActive Europe 2018.20 North East
TopoActive Europe 2018.20 North West

but in Express I can see that all:

Why can I not choose from them all? I tried to do a reinstall of ALL of them via express, but it makes no difference altough I can see in Android Filetransfer that the files (sup1...) got a n new timestamp.

Any idea?

BTW: I'm not sure, but I thought I have had seen them all initially before connecting via Basecamp to the watch, which took ages to load some maps and then died during some kind of updateing the maps.

This is weird. I've asked other 945 owners and they have around 7.5GB free space. I am sure it is because there is no gmaprda.img on other devices.

That might be. It might be that Basecamp did some strange thing or that it is a temporary file. But I'm not deleting it, as long as I do not know what it's good fore. I'm doing an update of the Garmin foder at the moment, to have a backup of this status... will take about 60 minutes....

You can find gmaprda.img on MARQ devices. rda means Road Drawing Accelerator

Funny how it may found it's way to my device? But would it be any use for the FR945 as well? "Accelerator" sounds useful ;-)

So, I can confirm that the latest TopoActive Europe map 2019.10 update adds gmaprda.img to the watch and leaves around 4.5GB free space.

In my 945 i have

the american topo 2018 about 2,5GB (now upgraded to 2019 version and similar weight)

a world base about 1,2GB

3 "supp" files at about 30K (very very basic maps for diferens zones like west or east or north and the 5.x.x name)

When operating updates with Basecamp it generates "temp" files with duplicated names or so...then when the 945 is disconnted, it does a refresh and delete the duplicated files.

Also i put some personalized maps (south america) and works great.

i think has some like 5GB free now. If i need more space i will delete the demo and then the american topo. Dont know a lot about map-watches, but in gps, the mandatory is to have at least one "supp" file OR the main "prom" file.

Hi all,

Just purchased a FR945 and absolutely loving it. I'm a little confused on the maps front though.

In the 'Garmin' folder I have various .IMG files. I have downloaded a Great Britain map from the link provided by CloggyAbroad but can't seem to get this working. I dragged the whole great-britain folder across but presuming I need to only copy across the .img files?

Also, I am going to Nepal in November to trek to Everest Base Camp. Are there any maps available for this region?
