workout load

if I go to the gym, do strength training, some cardio. all of it for an hour of exercise with increased hr, would the watch let me know a recovery time and how much I spend in aerobic zone or do I have to start a workout ? also, if I pull weights with the hand that does not have the watch, I assume reps are not counted. Anything can be done to solve that ?
thanks

Yes, you have to start an activity to get your recovery time and time in zones. Use dumbbells in both hands and the rep count is pretty accurate. I can't think of any weight lifting exercises that you can only do with one side only, or at least alternate left then right.
  • Thanks. Yes I do alternate so I guess when I am lifting weight with the hand and no watch, no rep counts. That makes sense. Best

if you do 5 left and 5 right you make 5 not 10.. if you would do a bench press with both hand it would still be 5!
oh by the way which activitiy profile does count reps?

does it also count push up and things like that?

  • Just as a counterpoint to rep counting is accurate, I haven't found it to be all that accurate. If the lifting you're doing is static, I would guess it'd close'ish, but if you're doing anything beyond that, it goes nuts. I'm not going to go into detail about my activities but I've had counted sets read 3-5 times the amount of reps I had done. I just turned it off and tried again. That was months ago, so maybe it's more stable, but I'm not doing it.
