Estimated Finish Time change in 9.70

I use the Running>Set a Target>Distance Only feature quite often. One of the things I liked about it was that it displayed the "Est.Finish Time" which is projection of your finish time for the distance based on progress so far and current pace.

In software version 9.70, this seems to have changed and "Est. Finish Time" now displays the estimated time remaining for the distance, which is not nearly a useful as the previous behaviour.

Has anyone else noticed this? Seems like a bug introduced in 9.70.
  • Where do you find this feature? I can't seem to find it. It would indeed be useful. It might be worth reverting to the previous release if possible.

A bug or just a change in behaviour? I can see advantages to both.
  • It's the same bug in virtual partner if you follow a course. I emailed the beta team about it.
  • Thanks for confirming. I have also e-mailed the beta team about this issue. Hopefully they can restore the previous behaviour.

I am also experiencing this issue and it is so frustrating. Seeing your estimated finish time is much more useful if you are trying to run a particular distance in a particular time. Time remaining is useless for this! I recently competed in a half marathon and spent the entire race trying to do mental calculations to figure out what my finish time was going to be. I have spoken with Garmin but they weren't able to provide a solution, although they have raised the issue with their technical team. Has anyone received a response on this with how the previous functionality can be restored?
  • It seems like this feature has been fixed in version 10.10. Now back to displaying the estimated finish time rather than estimated time remaining. Thanks Garmin!
  • There are several app or data fields that can be added to activities for this purpose. btw 10.10 has fixed the issue.
