Device showing incorrect time (7-10 min LATE (?)) - anyone had this issue

935, FW 6.1 (saw no value in 7.6, especially with the need to re-install everything).
Stock watchface with hands.
Not sure when it appeared (previously used it actively for workouts, now since it is cold outside (10-15 C below zero) I use old 920 not to kill battery) - so I use it mostly as a day-to-day and pool watch - since January.

I discover watch showing incorrect time recently - being late first 2-3 mins (was surprized), then around 7-15 mins (!) and today discovered it late by 7 minutes.

Last GPS activity (and I think GPS time sync) was on Sunday
Monday - morning pool activity (no GPS) and evening stretch (connectIQ app)
Evening - alarm, Morning alarm.
I think (not sure) in the morning time was ok (I have alarm on my watch first and in 5 mins - alarm on my mobile I think (not sure again) the sequence was "normal" (first watch alarm then phone alarm - which means watch could not be 7 mins late).
Then I put the watch off hand and left it for a while.

Then discovered it is 7 (seven!) minutes late.

Anyone had similar issue? Any solution?
  • Thank you for the update. We have had some improvements recently added to the Android version of GCM that should resolve this issue. Glad to see that you are no longer seeing incorrect time. If you do see any time related issues, please let us know so that we can get this looked at.

Improvement in GCM for android? GCM for android has not been improved since over 6 month ago when you released 4.2. That was when sync stoped to work and we lost the smart notifications. IE tit has not been working for half a year... .And your support cant help us. They just answer that they are aware of the problem and will get back to me when it is solved. which is has not been for 6 months. That is not what I would call improvements.
  • Just make sure to exclude the issue of how you charge the watch.

Put charging cable first in watch - then in laptop.

Doing the opposite (laptop first - then watch) - in 50-60% cases hard reset happens, time gets delayed, and if your phone does not give immediate sync - time stays delayed.

Tested on two 935s - first returned by suggestion of Garmin support, second - kept, as it had same "issue".
  • I just had the issue. I unpaired the watch from my phone (iPhone) from the Bluetooth menu by deleting the entry and then I put the watch to pairing mode and repaired it- problem solved.
