Gps soak

Hi everybody,
at first, i apologize for my bad English.
I am a owner of a new FR 935, and i have two questions for you guys:
I used to have Fenix 3 few years ago, but i have sold it one year ago, because i have broken my ankle and i have stopped running. Now i have fully recovered, and started to brisk walk and run a little, and i bought a new watch.
The questions are:
1. as this is a further generation sports watch, is it necessary - like on Fenix 3 - to do the master reset after every update ( i have just updated to software version 7), and
2. is it still necessary to do the initial 30 minutes GPS soak before first outdoor run, or is it enough to do the syncing via computer.

Thanks
  • Welcome back to running.

    1: No, not required.
2: No, it can download the GPS almanac data from the interweb by connecting to Garmin Connect. However if you do not connect to Garmin Connect before you use the watch it can retrieve this information from the GPS signals but it will take time.
