935 + iOS 11 = Spotty/Broken Notifications?

I feel like I'm going crazy. If I restart my phone, I will notifications for a few minutes, but then they stop.. my watch can no longer sync via Mobile. If I restart the phone, it works again.. for a few minutes. I have tried completely removing the bluetooth profile (delete from bluetooth connections, removing from Garmin Connect app, force closing the app) then starting fresh and it doesn't seem to fix anything.

Anyone else experiencing this? Next step would be to do a full Network Settings reset on my phone, but I really want to avoid that.

Edit, FIXED: I bit the bullet and did the Reset Network Settings and re-added it... and it works perfectly again.
  • Now you come to mention it, I haven't got any notifications myself right now and I did upgrade my iPhone 6S to iOS 11 the other day. I have had an ongoing problem with no Strava notifications for sometime now and even a support call with them and several resets/reinstalls did not change anything. I think that is a Strava issue though as they never get to the phone.

In general restarting your phone and your 935 can sort these sort of problems. Just trying this myself...
Ah, they have come back (well apart from the Strava ones)

Just sent a text to myself as a test and got that notification.

I, too, had been having Strava notification issues, just figured it was some sort of weirdness.

As for notifications, I bit the bullet and did the Reset Network Settings and re-added it... and it works perfectly again. I'll let you know about the Strava notifications. It's a PIA to reset network settings, but it's definitely worth it.

    how u reset network setting?
  • yes I've seen lots of cases of the 935 not connected since iOS 11, toggling bluetooth in control centre seems to fix it.... I'll try a network rest though. I get this error message at the moment if I try and do a manual sync...

For me BT syncing is very spotty. Toggling BT sometimes works but never for long. The odd thing is when I start a run the face shows a connection, my phone shows a connection but still no syncing. If I try to manually sync I get a message ?no app connection available.?

I don?t use notifications but none of mt apps can connect. Network reset did not fix it for me.
It seems a fix is needed.

timgrose Did you ever get the Strava notifications figured out? They appear on my phone but still don't on the watch. So weird.
  • No! I contacted Strava again yesterday because now not been getting lost CR/KOM emails. I thought people were being soft on me but no had to red flag about 2 pages worth of mainly bike riders who don't how to put a ride on Strava as a ride. Turns out that there is a current bug with those emails.
