Is 1st gen HRM-RUN 100% compatible?

When I bought my FR630 there was a firmware update for my gen 1 HRM-RUN strap to make it 100% compatible with the 630's gen 2 HRM-RUN data collection features. Is this true of the 935 too or do I need to buy a current gen HRM-RUN when I get the 935?
I can also confirm that the "old" HRM-run that came with my 630 (and got a firmware update because of running dynamics) works fine with my 935. I use it from to time while temp-runs because of the LTHR-estimation.
I'm still using my really old HRM Run (the one that came with Fenix2, I think) with FR935. No problems at all! (Unlike with Edge 520 & original firmware, the bug has been fixed long time ago but it was really unfortunate).
Hello everyone, I have a Fenix2 which I was using since 2014 with the HRm-Run black that came with it! Few weeks ago I bought a Fr 935 and the RD Pod. But I would like to use my old HRM-Run as well. I paired it with the 935, and the watch asked me if I would like to update HRM-Run to v6.60. I choosed yes, but the watch keep searching for hours and freeze all buttons. I have to make the hard reset to the watch come back to life. I've checked and the software version of my HRM-Run is 6.10. I saw that is a v6.30 in the middle! But I'm trying to go go straight from 6.10 to 6.60, just because I have no other option. Is that why the watch can't update it? Can anyone help me, because with v6.10 we can't get the advanced running dynamics. I already tried to use tha Ant stick that came with Fenix2, but the Garmin Express can't find the HRM-Run, even if I'm wearing it!

The same problem bro! Garmin support suggest to delete all activity from the watch and wait. LOL. I update my HRM from friends 735s, update through the 935 did,t work. Instead of hard reset you can connect watch to charger it will cance "searching" process. And if 935 will annoying you with a suggesting of update, find new firmware (don't touch EPO.BIN) of your HRM in the folder "REMOTESW" in your 935 and delete it. It will downloaded again in next connect to Garmin express, but it really only 5 sec to delete it.

Mine works just fine, even with a rusty-looking contact on the module and strap.
Just wanted to say same problem here with Forerunner 935 and HRM-Run v6.3. Upgradeto HRM-Run v6.6 gets stuck on "searching" and fails no matter what I try. Waiting for Garmin Support to provide some insight.
