Installation Instructions

  1. Connect your Forerunner 745 to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. Download and unzip Forerunner745_485Beta.zip. Place the GUPDATE.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  3. Copy GUP3590.GCD from the RemoteSW folder to \Garmin\RemoteSW on the device.
  4. Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the watch, and wait for the update to finish.
  5. If you would like to revert to the last public release software, place the GUPDATE-420.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder. Rename GUPDATE-420.GCD to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device. Copy GUP3590-500.GCD from RemoteSW\Downgrades to \Garmin\RemoteSW on the device and rename to GUP3590.GCD. NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.
  • Thanks, I already tried resetting and restarting multiple times to no avail.

I think I'll try a factory reset and see how that goes!

  • The sleep widget colours look a bit washed out but other than that, it worked great on my first night. Unlike before, it accurately knew when i was awake but lying in bed and the textual suggestion along with the score is really nice and helpful. Intensity minutes update also seems to be better, giving better insight into day to day performance.

Really loving this update so far. Battery drain is also normal nothing worse than usual.

  • I don't know what was stirred into the body battery maid now it's really very close to the body feeling. Congratulations, Garmin

  • "I did see one weird thing, I installed the Beta last night. My Daily heart rate graph was fine until midnight, then it went to 122 bpm and stayed there until 11 am when I did a factory reset. Now it seems to be working correctly again. Before I did the dactory reset, the watch looked correct but Connect Web and the IOS app showed this.

  • So far about  a week in and zero issues.  The new Body Battery, while a bit depressing in my case, seems much more accurate.  And the sleep widget seems dead on for me.  The score really seems to accurately reflect how I feel and how I slept.  It's super obvious now when I had 1 too many adult beverages before bed.

  • hello, will there be translation into the local language on the sleep widget on the clock?
  • When selecting perceived effort, is it intentional that (5,6) = Hard and (7,8) = Very Hard?

Just wanted to make sure this was not an oversight as all the other numbers have a unique description. (Very Light, Light, Moderate, Somewhat Hard, etc.)

  • The watch no longer updates the body battery if the user doesn’t wear it for a number of hours. So, if the body battery reaches 20 in the evening for example and the user doesn’t wear the watch to bed, then the battery body will still show 20 in the following morning. That is a new behaviour. I just don’t know if it is intentional or not.

  • I followed the instructions but no upgrade pop-up. Doesn't this work for Garmin745 Asia version? or you guys have any workaround?

  • Had an open water swim today with the new firmware and the tracking map is completely off.

I did 3 laps, ~500m each, but map shows only 1 lap and not even completed. Stop point is in the middle of the lake, but I finished the activity when I was back on the ground.

However, it seems like it tracked the distance more or less accurately, showing the total distance ~1.5k and the pace in each lap looks realistic.

Have anyone else experienced this issue?

    Thanks
