735xt and support for Pacepro Pace Strategies

hello,

I have just seen a new option in training section at the connect website. We can choose a route or distance for target goal and this option gives us to manage pace splits per km/mile and if we upload/choose correct route for the race pacepro also suggests elevation change pace! This is great ability for our watches too. But I prepared a race route and tried to send it to the my 735xt but garmin connect said that my device isnot suitable for this option.

With a firmware upgrade or something, are you planning to give this option to us who are 735xt users?

    I read a reply on twitter regarding this by DCRainmaker, he says that Garmin regard the 735xt as "being in the retirement home" so won't be getting pacepro, or any other updates, by the sounds of it.

    As a workaround I've created the pace pro profile of the course/route I intend to use it on, then loaded the lap/mile splits as a manual workout

    Not very 'pro' at all, and can be tedious to enter each mile (especially for a longer run), but gets you to the same place

    I am very frustrated about 735XT being incompatible with Pace Pro!!!

    Hello Evans, can i ask you how you load the lap/mile splits as a manual workout? Are you doing that by hand, one by one? Or is there a button/way to load these from the pace pro profile course?

    Hi

    Yes, create the pro pace as normal, then just manually use the profile/splits of that output to create a workout

    For example.... pro pace for 5k race being: 1km @ 3min/km, 2km @ 3:10min/km etc... just enter those the target pace splits within a workout

    Unlikely. Moderators are for keeping order on this forum, and not for discussing garmin's product strategy. I'm quite convinced that moderators do not have any inside knowledge on this topic.

    I'm not a garmin representative, but I bet dollars against peanuts that it's not gonna happen. The FR735XT is way over 3 years old, and the last firmware update was over a year ago. I would be extremely surprised to see ANY new features comming to the FR735XT.

    I know you'd rather hear an answer from garmin, so I apologize for cutting in, but my point is, that there is no point asking.

    Very helpful comment. Very practical for me before I have upgraded my watch.
