My forerunner 735XT is locked n the charging screen and do not allow to switch off, of enter into any other screen since some hours. It happened after I took it out from charging. If I press the swith off button I just get the extra bright.

Any solution on how to unlock it? it can take days to uncharge.....

I tried by swithcing in again but it did not work and yes, it is charging if is switch in again
  • press and hold the light button until the screen fades, this will do a hard reset. See if that clears it.

Strange, I nearly replied to say the same thing had happened to me for the first time ever a few days ago.
Wonder if its related to a recent update.

  • You do have to hold down the button for at least 15 seconds.

I’ve just had this myself, on a nearly new watch (I’ve had it a week).Topped up the battery charge today, and had to switch it off and on again to clear the charging info screen and get any of the buttons to respond.

However, I noticed a little later that the watch was showing the wrong time. The difference was roughly the same as the time it had been charging. None of the menu settings had changed. Connecting the watch to the Garmin Connect app on my iPhone made no difference to the time. I had to go for a walk and get the GPS to connect before the time of day corrected itself.

Looks like charging these things is a risky business. This is the second problem I’ve had with it. First one was solved by a full re-set. Any more issues and this thing is going back.

I am having the same issue. Doing a run does not even solve the issue. Any other solution will be highly appreciated.

    Same thing!

  • One potential issue is that the charging cable should be attached securely before plugging the usb end in. Otherwise if the wrong connector pins make conntect, it "shorts out" the watch, resetting the time, which then needs to be reset manually or via GPS..
