I did my first Triathlon with the 735XT... pretty much the one big reason I bought it for.
I've had a lot to say about the wrist based heart rate... which is not great 70% of the time.
But for the triathlon it worked 97% so super chuffed.
Swim
GPS, strokes, pace - For open water = Awesome. Started as we started and hit the lap button as I got out the water 1502m so cant say it missed a meter or two anywhere.
Transition 1
logged the time, pace, heart rate and GPS, so I can see how long I was stationary getting ready for the cycle. (can even see where they chased me back to get a race number I thought we only needed for the run :p )
Cycle
Worked like a bomb, GPS, altitude... The heart rate looks a little low, but its close enough so happy.
Transition 2
Same good stuff as 1
Run
I struggled... and one can see that with all the walks. My excuse is its my first Tri so next time hopefully I can run the full distance. Only glitch which is understandable, is around 8km mark we did a u-turn and it seems the GPS did not catch that point, so it is missing around 300m of the run. All the other stats are there and look pretty good. The heart rate is high, but from when I used to use the Polar strap, its normal for me, so thumbs up.
All in All, super chuffed with all the stats.
One question? I've seen the Nike running app, with the route where it colours the pace/speed on the map. Can we get that sort of visual on Garmin Connect?
