Is there a way to smooth the recorded track?

Hi,

I did a hike and according to google maps and OsmAnd it is about 18km long. I've uploaded the gpx data to the watch and followd the track.

UltraTrac was on till about 3:30 than I changed to GPS+Galileo. From this time on it looks a bit better. The problem starts when you go really slow or having a stop. At 2:10 was a longer stop at the summit. Then the GPS signal just goes crazy and jumps. This will create some extra kilometer which you have actually not done. The watch recorded > 26km.

Is there a way to edit a the data and upload it again?

You can see the activity here: Gullfjelstoppen

The weather was perfect, no tree cover, no buldings, no nothing.

  • For the longer stop, did you pause the recording?  GPS has some "drift" so even if if you are standing still, it can think you're moving around a bit (a few meters at a time, but it adds up)

  • No, I didn't "Pause" recording when stopped. I'm really good in forgetting to start again.

I did another hike two days later: Ulriken-Haukeland-Todlansfjell-Nestun

Here I paused it everytime and I've just once forgotten to start again Slight smile (between lap 15 and 16).

From 00:47 to 01:09 is a steep section where I was really slow (800m stairs). There you can see the location jumping as well.

The "Auto Pause" could be a bit smarter. It should just check how many steps you do and compare this with the GPS data to detect a pause. None of us has 30m long legs.
