Garmin Pay not working on 645M

Had a Garmin 645 Music for a year. Garmin Pay working fine with a Santander card. Garmin Pay stopped working suddenly in December. The company I bought it from inspected it and agreed to send me a new replacement a few weeks ago.

That one worked fine for about a week, now the same thing, card readers can't read my watch.

I can select it on my watch, enter my PIN and it shows the screen with a picture of the card. It's just any card machine can't read it.

Wondered if it was as software update issue? Very strange it's happened twice.

Anyone else had the same problem?

Got the same issue after updating to FW6.50. I've had some luck removing and adding the card again, but after a day or two it stopped working again. Symptoms were just as you described - wallet loads up card fine after entering PIN, but reader doesnt react at all.

What's worse, after trying to remove and add the card again I'm stuck at "Preparing Your Forerunner 645 Music" message... Trying adding card with different versions of Connect Mobile app did not do the trick, I'm a little bit out of ideas right now.

If anyone manages to solve this issue, please share the solution in this thread.

I have exactly the same issue, I’ve tried resetting the watch, reinstalling the app on my Note 10+ 5G and still nowt, it seems to be an issue with the latest software update

thanks for letting me know, glad I'm not alone. Any idea how to notify Garmin, not sure if they are aware of it?

After reading this I am glad I stopped the automatic firmware update. I am still on 6.4 and Garmin Pay is working fine. I had some issues with 6.2 before, when payments were rejected. However, the watch was communicating with the card reader though.

Regarding the issue with adding card back to the wallet - I've successfully managed to add the card back using 4.25.3 version of Connect. I'll check whether readers pick up the payment attempt after getting out of the office.

Quick confirmation - adding my card back to the wallet fixed the issue temporarily, I was able to pay for my lunch without any hassle. Trying to pay for groceries couple hours later resulted in the issue reappearing - reader was happily ignoring my watch once again. This at least confirms that nothing is "hard bricked" by FW6.50

Same issue with me folks- card was working fine for a week and now wont work, I've tried paying at numerous locations and with different readers but i suspect this is a Garmin Software issue which needs fixing with an update...…...

I'm in touch with support team right now, as far as I'm aware, the issue was forwarded to engineering team. I'd suggest you guys do the same - the more people report it, the more pressure there will be on them to fix. Also collecting logs from more devices cant hurt I imagine.
