Corrupt .FIT file after device freeze

Former Member

Hi all,

Like other reports on here recently my watch has started freezing when saving activities in particular slightly longer ones (7 mile+). When hitting save at the end of the activity the light stays on and the screen just freezes on the time. Once it has snapped itself out of it my activity is there and it has been syncing with Strave and Garmin Connect etc.

Until yesterday. I took part in a half marathon race and when I've crossed the line and saved the whole device has rebooted and I've ended up with the Garmin triangle logo on the screen. Not worrying about it too much until I went to view my activity on the Strava and it has failed to upload. The activity is showing as "Invaild" on my activity list on my watch but on the "This week" screen I can see the distance, overall time and the min/per mile details. I've managed to pull the .FIT file from the Activity folder on the watch but even running it through the Auto Fix part of http://garmin.kiesewetter.nl/ doesn't work. When trying to Sync to Garmin connect I just get an error with "Unsupported File".

Does anyone know of any other ways to do this without the full version of Fit File Repair Tool?

Here is the file in case anyone can do anything with it?

Many thanks in advance 2019-09-08-10-42-21.zip
