weather app suddenly stopped working for 3+ days

It's been 3-4 days now that my weather app stopped working. I don't want to "just wait" for it to work again. What can I do to make it work?

  • It's a Garmin issue on their servers. It normally resolves itself eventually. You can't stored it up I'm afraid
  • You mean the standard weather widget? No problems here, working fine, so how could this be a Garmin server issue?

    Is the bluetooth connection to your phone working correctly and is your GC app running on your phone?
  • I would imagine there is more than one and depends on the area a forecast needed for. My weather disappeared a few weeks ago and came back a few days later.

    I assure you it's not an issue with the phone or Bluetooth.

    Yeah it isn't an issue with BT or phone. For good measure I have restarted my phone multiple times, the watch too, I have unpaired/re-paired the watch on the phone. It happened to me a good few weeks ago but only for a few hours. Now it's been 4-5 days I think and it's really annoying.
  • Try shutting down the app and clearing the cache and memory. You will have to reconnect and log back in but it worked for me...

    Garmin, that seems to be a recurrent problem.
  • Well I have learned something new. On the last forum post from a while back it was just something that resolved over time. Didn't realise it was an issue with the app.

    Garmin folks, do you confirm this is on your radar? Or do we need to contact support to make sure this will be looked at?

  • I suspect that when the app updated it didn't clear some data from the cache that was formatted for the previous software version. Whatever it was clearing the cache got rid of it. Seems to be an android issue as much as anything as this works for most apps that stop working.
