Distance and pace not showing on Forerunner 45

For the last few times I’ve used my Forerunner 45, which is about 6 months old, the distance exercised (May it be walk or run) won’t link up to the actual distance exercised.

For instance, a confirmed 2km walking route only recorded 1.2km. The funny thing is that when Ive hit the 1km route, the notification would come up on the watch, but then it only says I’ve done 600m.

at the end of the exercise, it’ll say 1.2km instead of 2km.

The watch also wouldn’t record my pace.

I’m not sure how to fix this - I’m assuming it’s an easy solution, but I just don’t know how to correct it.

  • During activities you see the distance in miles; even when the settings are metric. Quite annoying!

I would like to know how to change this too.

  •  and ,

Can you please log into https://connect.garmin.com/signin/ and make sure your units are set correctly? Hover over your Avatar picture in the upper right-hand corner and go to Account Settings > Display Preferences > Measurement Units.

  • Units are metric!

My FR 45 calculates metric, but shows miles DURING activities

I have found settings for rounds: at auto-lap it says 0,6 mi and indeed a sound beeps at 0,62 (after each km)

During running distance is shown in miles. At 0,62 a beep sounds and 1 is shown
After the beep 0,63 is shown and so on the distance keeps showing miles

The 1 which is shown I only can interprete as 1 KM (this is not a whole mile, but just 0,6 mile)

It is possible to set the auto-lap off, but not into metric.

When turned off, I expect no beep will be shown, but I expect still miles in the distance setting DURING an activity

    Update:
Indeed, when turned off auto-lap, no beep, but still showing distance in miles DURING running.
