Forerunner 45 Series Beta SW 5.02 - Now Available

We have released software beta version 5.02.

Changes made from version 5.00 to 5.02:

  • Fixed an issue on non-music devices that could cause disruption of various metrics after being connected to a computer. Some of the affected items were cadence, stress, and body battery.
  • Improved GPS reliability.

Installation Instructions

  1. Connect your Forerunner 45 or 45S to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. Download and unzip Forerunner45Beta_502Beta.zip. Place the GUPDATE.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder of your device's internal storage drive. Place the GUP3309.GCD file in the \GARMIN\RemoteSW folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  3. Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the watch, and wait for the update to finish.
  4. If you would like to revert to the last public release software, place the GUPDATE-500.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder and rename GUPDATE-500.GCD to GUPDATE.GCD. Place the GUP3309-601.GCD file in the \GARMIN\RemoteSW folder and rename GUP3309-601.GCD to GUP3309.GCD. Disconnect to install. NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.
