I have ANT+ chest heart rate monitor connected to my Garmin Forerunner 35, when I'm wearing the watch and the chest monitor how do I know which reading is being displayed? Will the chest strap always override the watch sensor when connected?

An external heart rate sensor takes precedence over the built-in optical sensor, but when an activity is running. For 24/7 hr monitoring only the built-in sensor is used.
