Is anyone else having problems with battery life draining very quickly?

The last couple of days I’ve had to charge my watch at least once.  I’ve charge it before bed two nights in a row and it’s dropped atleast 65% overnight on both occasions. I’ve reset my watch, made sure it’s up to date, have the factory settings and am not using any IQ apps.

I will contact Garmin tomorrow morning but for this to happen so suddenly when my watch isn’t even six months old is concerning and wondered if it was a software issue.

  • Yes, I am facing the same kind of battery drainage since I updated to the latest firmware. I thought of giving the beta versions a try but then many other stuff starts to go wrong in that. The HR sensor is already a major concern with Garmin which has not been dealt with since ages. So many years of experience still they seem far behind. What I have learnt so far is that they are more interested in bringing new models and enticing new consumers rather than solving the issues on the old models. They could have installed the new hr sensor on 265 n 965, as it was the latest edition to their lineup of forerunners which they didnt.

  • I noticed my overnight drain was due to pulsox being active during sleep. Battery drain issue disappeared when I set pulsox to on demand only. This only started after 20.21 updates. I will try turning it on during sleep for my most recent update 21.19 and see if they fixed it.

Other please test if overnight drain is also pulseox related that way Garmin can be more aware.

  • Returning to update. The 21.19 and 21.20 seem to have greatly improved battery life with PulseOx on during sleep tracking. It isn't quite as efficient as when I first got the watch but better than every other release after 20.21. Currently on 21.20,  I'm seeing about an extra 5% loss with sleep tracking + pulseox vs without pulseox where as every release before 21.19 was cost me an extra 20%.

    Hope that helps some people.
