Forerunner 235 heart rate readings the same on every run.

My average heart rate is always 150 and my max heart rate is always 161 on every single 4 mile run regardless of pace or effort. For 6 miles the readings are 155 and 161 - every time. This has to be a malfunction of the monitor. The graph shows the heart rate going up in a straight line until it plateaus at 161 even on runs where I am flat out for the last mile! Is there a fix for this?

  • I would restart watch first step.

Usually when it is a fairly straight line, or a weird stair step upwards... it doesn't have a good lock on your HR.   Make sure you have the Run activity active on your watch for a minute or more before you start your run so that it can get a good lock on your HR.  Maybe change to a workout screen that shows your HR, this will allow for you to judge if it looks legit.  Before starting the run, a walking warmup will help also.  Make sure watch is tight enough.    GL

Nothing solved this. I had to send to Garmin and get a refurbished watch. New watch works fine.
