Forerunner 235: 'running' activity profile disappeared

Hi,

Since I last connected my Forerunner 235 to Garmin Express, the 'running' activity profile has completely disappeared. I only have 'running indoors', 'cycling indoors', 'cycling' and 'other' as activity profiles to select from.
If I want to go for a run, I have to select the 'Other'- profile now. This is really stupid, as it is a running device, and when I select 'other' no running records are registered...
I already connected the watch to Garmin Express again and everything is up to date, but the profile is still missing.
And no, it isn't just hidden, it really is no longer there.

Anyone who knows how to fix this?

dpenkin001 as LoekV stated, a factory reset fixes this. It worked for me.

Run >> Settings >> System >> Restore Defaults >> Yes

Just discovered another problem which follows from the missing 'running' activity profile.

I have all my planned work-outs, based on heart rate zones, in the Forerunner as running work-outs.
Now when I want to start a work-out, I can only do it as a 'running indoors' work-out and gps signal is turned off.
Really annoying...

Hi,

I know it maybe a stupid question, but have you tried to turn your watch off and on again?
If it do not work and as you said the profile is not turned off, I would try a master reset. You will have to re-configure your watch again.

Note I'm not an expert with this watch as I got mine just 4 days ago. :p

On your watch go to MENU/SETTINGS/ACTIVITY PROFILES and check to see if your Running profile is set to "Show' rather than 'Hide'

Having the same problem. Looked in SPORTS folder on Garmin and there is no RUN profile.

I had the same issue one day and a factory reset solved it. I made a backup beforehand so I could restore my activities afterward.

I just found my “Other” Activity had disappeared and had been replaced by “Bike Indoor”. Only option was to reset to factory defaults.

In contrast, it's the "indoor running" activity that has disappeared from my 235.

And - am noticing this problem has been flagged here for 3 years and there has been no response from Garmin tech support.
