Question about activity tracking and gps route during run

Today for the first time I turned on activity tracking on my 230. I don't wear it all day, but I was hoping that with activity tracking on it would also show my steps for each run. (as I push the runs from garmin connect to strava, and then onto google fit, which also records steps from my huawei watch, which I wear during the day, but not when I'm running).

I started my run as normal on the 230 (selecting activity, run, and making sure I had GPS reception before starting). But for some reason when I view this completed run on Garmin connect, its not showing a map of my route. Is this because I had activity tracking turned on? That's the only thing I did differently today compared to the 30+ runs I've done with the 230 in the past, all of which show the map of my route just fine.

No, should not be related. I have activity tracking turned on, the steps during a run do get counted, and runs record correctly including GPS track in Connect (and transfer correctly to Sporttracks, which I use rather than Connect). Must be something else.
  • Same for me

I didn't change any parameter, but the map is not shown in my activity since 3 days too... I think there is a problem with the new firmware upgrade, but I don't know how to resolve this...

The device team is investigating a reported issue where the map does not display in Garmin Connect after uploading the data. This is an issue that has been previously reported, and is not related to the most recent firmware update.

Currently there is a workaround for this issue. We have seen that if users power cycle their device prior to the next run, the watch will record and store all the GPS data. Then after uploading the map data will appear.

We appreciate the discussion and apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused.
