How to show upcoming calendar events on the watch ?

I am using Forerunner 235 with firmware 4.10 and an iPhone 6 with IOS 9.3.1.
I have turned on Notifications "Banners" for both the native calendar app and my Week Cal app in IOS on my iPhone, but nothing is displayed on the watch.
Does anyone have any tip about what I need to configure to get this working.

The weather widget and other notifications is working fine.
  • Ensure the GCM app has been granted access to Calendars in Privacy settings in iOS

… nothing is displayed on the watch.
Are the upcoming calendar events for today? That's all the Calendar widget on the FR235 will display.

Does anyone have any tip about what I need to configure to get this working.
Has the Garmin Connect Mobile app been given access to your Calendars under Settings»Privacy in the operating system?

I have turned on Notifications "Banners"
That's not actually relevant. I disabled notifications for the native Calendar app just now, and new test events I created for later this afternoon still sync and show up in the Calendar widget.

If there is no calendar event today then it will show the next available calendar event.
I hope this is in your case, unless you have today's event and its not showing up.

If today's event is not showing up then, the reason could be:
    - You had a workout scheduled today and you started the workout. Then either completed or cancelled the workout. After the completion or cancellation of the workout, the watch will by default show you the next available workout, not the one completed/cancelled today.

Thank you, Asmugdill, for you quick response. Giving the GCM app access to Calendars in Privacy settings in iOS made it work right away.

Is that how it works for you?

I created two test events in the native Calendar app on my iPad,
    • one for 11PM on Monday; and
    • one for 10AM on Tuesday.

I then performed a sync, and confirmed that the 11PM test event was showing in the Calendar widget on my FR235.

I then removed the 11PM test event, and performed another sync.

When I checked the Calendar widget after 9PM on Monday, it still said “No Upcoming Events” after syncing with the Garmin Connect Mobile app.

I see workout events in the Calendar Widget on my FR235, am not sure of the others, as my main goal is to check any workout event for the day or next event if the today's is completed/cancelled.

Can you try setting up workouts and do the sync again. Today, from the Calendar Widget I could see the Workout Event scheduled today, I selected the workout and did my run. Now, if i check Calendar Widget, by default it shows next day workout event, and Today workout is listed up, which I can scroll up and check.
  • I don't think the original question in this thread was about workouts in GC

I think we're talking about different things here. I'm talking about business meetings or dinner with my girlfriend, set up as events in the Calendar app in iOS, so that my FR235 will show them and remind me when I should get ready to go.

For a moment, I also thought we might be talking in different tangents.

About the IOS calendar events, I have no issue getting the notification from both apple calendar and google calendar. Not sure if those are synced to the watched, but I think the watch displays when notified by the connected phones.

I have the exact same issue! It only display event that is at least 7hr away. Anything within 7hr will not show up!
