I bought my wife a 235, but I was not very happy with the HR accuracy and battery life. I exchanged it for the 230 which came yesterday & I have spent the last 2hrs trying to get things right.
So the 230 came with an older software version 3.2. When I turned it on & set it up, I noticed that there was no weather widget or any of the other stock ones. Odd.. but I knew it would update when I synced it. So updated to the 4.1 version. Same problem. The only widget that shows is the activity/steps one. Garmin express shows that they are all there & installed - but nothing avail on the watch. remove/redownload in express. same thing. multiple reboots... hard reset... soft reset... nothing.
Just tried to go down to both the beta version as well as the older 3.2 (downloaded), but neither will actually install. (I do this weekly on my Fenix 3, so I'm well aware of the process).
I can't find anything online about this. And the manual indicates that these are stock items that should be there on first boot.
It *will* let me install new widgets, but of course the stock ones are not in the garmin IQ site. The ones I have downloaded have seemed *really* slow, as well.
Any thoughts before I send this one back too?
