Watch left a mark on my arm

I haven't worn my 235 for 24 hours now and my arm still has a dark spot where the lights sit when I wear it.
I can understand some indentation in the skin for a bit after you take the watch of, but a red mark after 24 hours has me wondering if that is normal. I've noticed it before, but can't remember if it went away before I put on the watch again.

Looks a bit like a large freckle, about one inch to the left of my wrist bone.

Is that normal for this watch?

If you wear it so tight, of course it's too be expected. That's one of the issues with optical HR currently. Tight enough to get reasonable accuracy means weals and welts may linger.

I've found that the 235 does not need to be worn too tightly, just tight enough so that it doesn't slip around still gives accurate HR data for me.
