Guys - quick question - I just returned my 630 and ordered a 235 due to the price difference and the fact that I just simply wasn't using the added features on the 630 to justify the price. I used the extra money to order an Edge 25! My question is on band tightness - on the Apple Watch (with a far inferior sensor) I had to tighten the band down so tight to get it to read my HR. How tight does the band on the 235 need to be during workouts and do you need to slide it up your arm?
When running I wear it tight enough that I don't feel the watch move. During the day I have it one or two notches looser and it still picks up my HR when it does it's periodic checks.
Where you wear it on your wrist is going to be pretty specific to you. I have pretty small wrists because of my long monkey arms and have a nice flat spot just above the wrist bone so I don't wear it as high up my arm as some people need to. You'll have to experiment a bit to find the best spot for you.
I come from a past of disliking big/thick watches and wearing them high and tight. I decided to take a chance to try out this watch and I must say that I've been impressed.
I wear it just above the bone joint all the time. I have not seen/felt a 630, but this watch is surprisingly light and the band material is very pliable/flexible which contributes to the comfort.
During daily normal activities, I keep it loose enough where I don't notice it, but it's just tight enough so that it won't move down my wrist/past the bone, and it won't rotate side-to-side. It never leaves a mark in my skin and sometimes I notice the green light (when I'm looking at my arm when it's reading my HR), but it has never once felt uncomfortable.
When I run or workout, I quickly found out that I do need to tighten it one or two holes depending how warm it is. Although it does end up leaving a mark on my wrist, it is still comfortable enough where I don't notice it (probably because I'm preoccupied with my activity). :)
I find it mostly comfortable or so that I don't feel it, the band is very comfy. For running I tighten it up a notch, wearing it a bit looser during the day. Sometimes in the evening the HRM bump started to bother me a little. But I guess it's rather because for 18 years I have not been wearing wristwatches (ever since I had my first mobile phone).
I wear it about half off the wristbone location, so that the band still touches my wristbone. Even though I have quite hairy arms the watch picks up HR nicely.
Before I had the watch i was concerned that it might be too big for my rather small wrists (circumference about 16.5 cm) but it's perfect.
