Auto tracking keeps starting for no reason

Auto tracking keeps starting, even when I'm not wearing the device. Any suggestions on how to fix? I've turned auto tracking off in the app, but it keeps starting.

    1. Having the same problem. Just started doing it an hour ago. I'm just lounging around and it just autostarted a walking activity for the third time.  I've only have the device for a couple of weeks.

    I took mine off for the night and let it just sit on my bedside table and when I woke up the next morning it wasn't doing it anymore.  Hasn't done it since that night.

    Good to know. Hopefully it stops. It's copying completed activities into google fit and my Strava app and I'm ready to throw it out the window!

    It's still happening.  At 6:44 last night while watching tv (hardly an exhilarating exercise), it auto-started, almost always around the 10 minute mark.  It does no good to manually cancel, it just restarts.  Then it saved my 11:40 minute "walk" and said I burned 40 calories.

    I could just ignore it, but I sync and share exercises with a couple of buddies.  They do a3-hour bike ride for 3000 calories and compare it to my 11 minute walk.  Ha.  It was funny once or twice, but now it's annoying.

    I also find my Vivo smart 4 starts auto activity for no reason when I'm just sitting down. (Seems to think I'm walking.).

    Mine just started doing this today.  I'm sitting at my desk and it has tried to auto track with no steps showing.  It has happened 5 times in the last 30 minutes. I had an updated a few days ago but it's weird that it didn't start right then.

    Hello! To help us investigate/escalate this issue further, we would ask that any users experiencing this, respond to this thread in the format below:


    What software version is your device?
    Is Auto track disabled?
    Is Move IQ enabled?

    When I go to settings/software on the device  it says: SW 4.90 TSC 2.20 and 5.03 net 4.71

    Activity track and move iq are both enabled.

    Is the Auto track enabled? If that is, can I have you disable both settings for a few hours and could you respond here if there is any difference?

    I don't see auto track. I see auto activity start or activity tracking.
