Heart Rate suddenly got worse

Hi there,

I was happily using the garmin vivosmart 4 smart band until a few days ago. Suddenly the heart rate became much higher than expected and with large variations.

Here my heart rate recording for a regular day without major activities:

And for a day with some activities:

So far I think it's pretty good.

Three days ago, after a short run, everything seems to got worse:

After 20:00, the measure is much more erratic, and it's been like that since then. For example, this is the chart from yesterday:

All I did yesterday was a small walk around the house, but the heart rate is insanely high and erratic. Even during sleep the data is very erratic, thus affecting the sleep statistics.

Any clue of what happened? I've tried to clean and wear a little more/less tight the band but nothing changed. I wear the band above the wrist bone and everything like said in the manuals and FAQs.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It seems that the issue has been solved after the battery died (in less than 3 days!) and then fully recharged

Today readings seems to be good

I hope it's just a one time issue

  • I had the same thing happen. I had a spike up to 140 every couple of days, and then one day when my heart rate was very high for several hours. Hasn't happened since. Don't know if it's me or Garmin.
