Incomplete Syncing

Since yesterday, my Vivosmart has only been doing partial syncs with my iphone. At the moment, it only syncs HR, steps, intensity minutes, floors, and calories. It no longer syncs body battery, activities, stress, sleep, or sleep pulse ox. I can see the unsynced data on the vivosmart, but not on the app or on Garmin Connect.

When the iphone app syncs with the Vivosmart, the progress indicator on the phone only moves a little. It doesn't sync the way it normally does, where the progress bar gradually moves around the circle. I don't get an error message after syncing, but it's obviously not syncing much of the data.

I tried un-pairing my watch from my iphone, then re-connecting it, but that didn't help.

Any ideas?

  • Same issue here, it is connected. It records my heart rate and steps but not my sleep, stress and body battery. Have already reset it once but the problem came straight back.

    I thought it was just me, glad to see it isn't!!

  • Thanks for all the responses. I wish they would get this fixed. I will definitely be returning this if it doesn't get resolved soon, because it just simply doesn't do what it is supposed to do. Very disappointing.

    Having the same issue. Vivosmart4 with iOS 13.3

    Randomly stops syncing and have to reset device.

    Come on Garmin, where's the patch?

    Is there someone from Garmin who can step in here to help?  My wife has this issue and she is starting to actually get mad at me,when all i did was buy her the watch!

    I am also getting this issue. Support asked me to follow the standard reset but it did not solve the issue. Can someone from Garmin acknowledge that there is a problem as its getting very frustrating.

    Careless support, poor performance, bad choice to buy such product....searching for other vendors

  • I apologize for not commenting here sooner. We are aware of this issue and we are working on a resolution. I hope to have an update for all of you in the next few days.

    This can’t get fixed soon enough, device is useless with this performance. Currently looking to upgrade to a more expensive product, now looking beyond Garmin.

    I'm also having the same issues. I've reset my watch and re-downloaded the app 4-5 times already. It sync's for the first day but after that it won't sync again. It's been ongoing for a month and I haven't been able to accurately track my activities. Unbelievable for the amount of money I paid for the watch. It should at least properly connect to the app.
