Not able to sync Vivofit Jr. 3 after mid-November 2022

After approximately mid-November, my son's Vivofit Jr 3 has stopped syncing with my app.  This has worked perfectly for a long time and since then, it looks like there are no devices sync'ed up.  I try to repair the devices and I see a "Not found" popup, with the message that "we couldn't connect to your Garmin device."  Has anyone seen this issue recently and know how to fix it?
