Vivoactive 4 as Heart rate source for Zwift

Hey guys, I got my Vivoactive 4 and wanted to use it to track and display my heart rate in Zwift. Unfortunately, I absolutely cannot connect the Vivoactive 4 to Zwift to display my heart rate. Do you have any ideas how I can do that?

thanks in advance.

  • It should be flagged that to connect Garmin HR with Zwift you may need to use the bridging connection option offerd by the Zwift Companion app.

I wasted a lot of time viewing YT videos and forum posts that are misleading, and thinking there was a bug or synching issue eg bluetooth.

So buried over at Zwift has a specific tutorial buried in its help pages (that my Garmin Vivoactive 4 needed) on how to connect them using the Zwift Companion app support.zwift.com/.../pairing-a-heart-rate-monitor-to-the-zwift-hub-BJdmU8so

This is because Vivoactive 4 broadcasts the HR only over ANT+

I hope this helps others out there.

  • I was able to easily install a CABLE Util Ant+ device to sit in between a CycleOps 300 trainer and Zwift.  The CABLE device receives power/cadence from the CycleOps and HR from watch, then transmits both to Zwift
