Vivo active 3 battery life

After a recent software update the battery life on the active 3 has been reduced to less than 12hrs a day. At 20% it would drain within 3hrs.

This is using basic settings and no GPS. Previously the battery life would last up to a week without using GPS or several days when using the GPS for ride tracking.

I have seen and read several other complaints about the battery life after an update. Is Garmin aware of this? Do they care? Are they doing anything about it?

I've noticed the dramatic reduction of battery life on my Vivoactive 3, too. Did not think about the recent software update, but that certainly makes sense. Hopefully not an Apple-like ploy to get us to upgrade sooner than we normally would...

Having the same issue. Mine was lasting about a week on a charge. Suddenly, the last 3-4 days, it's dying in a day.

V3M user here, device purchased 1/2 year ago. Watch can easily record 4 hours bike sessions with connected chest strap (ant+) and uses about 20 - 30% of battery. Also no problems with recording longer hiking sessions (prox 6-7 hours), but cannot remember exact % of battery usage there.

I wouldn't be worried about managing marathon recording at all, as long as you start with battery full enough.

About 2 weeks ago, there was an update to my Vivoactive 3 watch and since then, the battery last half day or less if I am training the same day and using GPS. This is unreal. The watch becomes useless . Anyone knows if there is a solution for it?

About 2 weeks ago, my watch battery started losing power rapidly and has needed charging daily. It used to go several days without a charge. Now, it loses 30% whilst I'm asleep! My boyfriend's watch has the same issue. The software is up to date. Does anyone know why the batteries are suddenly failing?

I’m sorry to hear of the battery drain issues that you’re experiencing. Let’s start by power cycling (turning off and then back on) your watch. If the battery drain persists and if you have any Connect IQ (CIQ) Content, especially watch faces, you may need to delete that content until the independent developer is able to update their app/watch face to function correctly (without causing a battery drain) with the new firmware version on your watch. You can use any of the 3 FAQs below to uninstall the CIQ content.
