Backlight setting Vivoactive 3

I’m new to Garmin . but when I select ‘mode’ in backlight settings the watch seems to turn off and takes ages to get it to switch back on

Hello! This is not normal. When you select MODE it should bring up, Gesture options, timeout options, and brightness options. Can you sync your device, hold the power button for 45 seconds ignoring power off then turn it back on. Then try those settings again.

Thank you for help....I think that solves for me now......all those headings are there ... there is no need for me to actually press MODE...... but just select option below ! Thanks again
