What is VA3 good for?

Wrong heartbeat, wrong sleep results, no nap registering, wrong callories?

  • The golf app working well, at least for me...

  • I guess it depends on the user or watch.  I have had my VA3 for 18 months + with few issues until the recent battery issue which was fixed with a restore defaults.

  • No nap registering is true. Advanced sleep detection is weird for me because I'm a restless sleeper so I adjust the start/stop times every morning.

How do you know heart rate, calories are wrong?

  • I use mine for cycling and xc ski training and it works fine. The sleep function doesn't interest me but it seems to work OK (but it doesn't recognize naps).

  • on bike: mtb, xc, trekking    (i.e. all Transalp (Insbruck to Garda) this year only recordered by watch,    navigation by etrex)
    on ski, skitouring, freeriding
    on windsurfing (additioan application)

all above activities connected to Strava service.

  • I still really like mine. Sleep registration has improved dramatically after continued use - either a fw update has improved it or there is and element of learning involved. I don't nap though.

Heartbeat has alway been spot on for me day to day - not great when riding a bike but I have a heart strap for that. Running heart rate seems to struggle with quick increases or decreases in rate but I knew this limitation from the reviews before I bought it.

So its good for telling time, tracking sleep, monitoring heart rate during the day, tracking runs via gps and smart notifications. And battery last a week. Great for the price.

    What more do you want?

  • I have it for year and a half and I like it, no brain killing issues. I need for fitness tracking mainly, with GPS I made so interesting offroad biking, SUP and windsurfing, walking/hiking routes uploaded to outdoor sites.

    So far in 2019

I tracked 2.71 million steps (or about 2172 Km) walking, plus...

    1650 Km gravel biking...

    couple hundred Km SUP paddling...

Still my two pair of leather shoes (for winter and summer walking) are OK I just cleaned them minutes ago, I replaced the chains on my bike somewhere in the summer after a third year.

Your need or opinion may vary.

    Edit:

The biggest issue with this my VA3 is that I bought leather bands from online and amazon those looked so nice on picture but when I got them to my hands I rather got back to this black silicon, and kind of boring...
